ANGO proudly presents its first concert of 2019 “An Evening with Elgar”. Join us on 27th April in Toorak Uniting Church as we serenade you with beautiful music of Elgar under the baton of conductor Thaddeus Huang.
Audiences will be treated to Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, Introduction and Allegro, The Wand of Youth Suite 1 and Cockaigne Overture.
One of Elgar’s most loved works, the Cello Concerto in E minor, will be played by Phillip Guo who is currently a Bachelor of Commerce student at The University of Melbourne. He started learning the cello at the age of 7 and participated in many ensembles including Melbourne Youth Orchestra where his passion for orchestral playing began.
We are also very excited to welcome Invictus Quartet formed by students of The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Invictus is an internationally acclaimed string quartet who have performed in numerous festivals and competitions around the world. Come along and hear the amazing Invictus Quartet being featured in Introduction and Allegro.
