ANGO First Concert 2024

On the evening of June 16, 2024, ANGO Orchestra successfully held our first concert of the year at Ballarat Civic Hall, presenting a charming and diverse musical extravaganza for the audience. The concert featured a blend of opera selections and symphonic pieces, including several world-renowned musical compositions that captivated the audience.

ANGO Orchestra is renowned for our exquisite performance skills and exploration of musical diversity, and this concert continued to uphold our tradition, showcasing the splendid fusion of opera and symphony. The program included the following classic pieces:

  2. My Homeland - Theme from the movie "Shang Gan Ling"

  3. Intermezzo - "Cavalleria Rusticana"

  4. Love Unspoken - "Merry Widow"

  5. Una furtiva lagrima - "The Elixir of Love"

  6. Va, Pensiero (Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) - "Nabucco"

  7. Blue Danube

  8. Brindisi - "La Traviata"

  9. Thaïs Meditation

  10. Carmen Suite No. 1

  11. Habanera - "Carmen"

Under the direction of Australia's outstanding young conductor, Andrew Groch, ANGO Orchestra demonstrated exceptional skill and profound understanding of each piece, delivering a performance that was both captivating and artistically profound. Audiences were transported through a musical journey, experiencing the endless charm and emotional impact of music.

We had the pleasure and honour to collaborate with Tenor Paul Biencourt, Soprano Emily Wang, Mezzo Soprano Juel Riggal and Lianmeng Senior Choir with opera selections which has been approved to be a great success! ANGO Orchestra will continue to bring more wonderful musical works to audiences in future performances, exploring the limitless possibilities of music together.
